Rain Welcomes the Fall

a rainstorm
quenches the thirst
of the parched land
the change in the air
is palpable
a relaxing
sigh of relief
all seems quieter
cool misty mornings
afternoons warmed
by the sun
calling for one
to bask in the caress
rather than hide
crisp, chilly evenings
yesterday
the equinox
and its official
fall is here
