A Night of Dreams

A night of dreams
visitations of the past
moments of angst
disappointments relived

I feel the emotions
I've been in the stories
the ending too painful to endure
but it remains in all its devastating glory

I thought I'd put them to bed
remembered only the radiance
but the ache lives on into eternity
present in the wrapping of the light

It's what made him beautiful
the depth of his demons
fed the fire of his starlight
and we're left holding the ashes
