Changing of the Seasons

I wandered outside last night
to check on our little world
The fog was misting softly
and round and round it swirled

When I awoke this morning
I heard the wild winds of fall
and knew last night's tender fog
would no longer be here at all

Today trees sway back and forth
to a song sung by the wind
There's a haziness to the sky
like the day's about to end

I love the change of seasons
the way it shifts and shimmers
leading us on a merry path
into the depths of winter
